On the 90th birth
anniversary of Reliance’s Founder-Chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani in December
2022, Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation,
announced a historic commitment: to award 50,000 scholarships over 10 years,
guided by the philosophy that investing in youth is the surest way to secure
the nation’s progress. Since the launch of this initiative, Reliance Foundation
scholarship programmes have directly impacted the lives of more than 28,000
young people from across India, making higher education more accessible and
empowering dreamers from even the most modest backgrounds.
Annual Support to 5,100 Students
Since 2022-23, Reliance
Foundation has been supporting 5,100 students annually. Of these, 5,000 are
meritorious undergraduate students from underprivileged sections studying any
stream of their choice via the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships.
Additionally, 100 postgraduate scholars—India’s brightest—receive support for
study in select, future-ready fields encompassing Engineering, Technology,
Energy, and Life Sciences via the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate
Scholarships. Both scholarships aim not only to provide financial support but
to foster a robust, engaged alumni network that can inspire, mentor, and uplift
each generation, propelling the nation’s growth.
Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Scholarship
- Must be a resident Indian citizen
- Must have passed Standard 12th with a
minimum 60%
- Must be currently enrolled in the 1st
year (academic year 2025-26) in a regular full-time degree programme in
any stream
- Annual household income must be less
than ₹15 lakhs (preference to those below
₹2.5
lakhs)
- Must take a mandatory aptitude test
Certain groups are
ineligible: students in the 2nd year or higher, those enrolled via
online/hybrid/remote/distance modes, diploma holders post-10th, students in
2-year or 6-year UG degree courses, and those who do not meet the test
requirement.
Scholarship Benefits
The Reliance Foundation
Undergraduate Scholarship supports each selected student with up to ₹2,00,000
over the entire duration of their degree. Beyond financial aid, scholars become
part of a unique alumni network, providing invaluable networking, mentoring,
and personal growth opportunities.
Application & Required Documents
Applications are open until
4 October 2025. Applicants must submit:
- Passport-sized photograph
- Address proof (permanent address)
- Marksheets of Class 10 and 12
- Bonafide Student Certificate from their
current institution
- Official Disability Certificate, if
applicable
- Family income proof (via Gram Panchayat,
Ward Councillor, Sarpanch, SDM, DM, CO, Tehsildar)
- PAN card and bank details after initial
submission
Applicants should ensure
that all required documents are ready and accurate, as incomplete applications
can cause delays or lead to rejection.
