The Nirmaan Scholarship and
Mentorship Program (NSMP), launched in 2008, stands as a key initiative to
empower meritorious students facing financial constraints in Karnataka. By
combining financial assistance with personalized mentorship, NSMP helps talented
youth pursue professional degrees and realize their career aspirations
MISSION AND APPROACH
NSMP’s mission is to
identify students on a merit-cum-need basis and provide them with both monetary
support and career guidance. The program targets students after class 12th,
recognizing that this is a crucial juncture for higher education and professional
growth. Selected students benefit from career counseling workshops and
mentor talks, ensuring they receive holistic support beyond just financial aid
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To ensure that assistance
reaches the most deserving, NSMP has set clear eligibility guidelines:
- Residency: Applicable only to
students from Karnataka.
- Academic Performance:
- Up to intermediate (Class 12): Above
85% marks.
- From intermediate to current semester:
Above 65% marks.
- Family Income: Total annual family
income should not exceed ₹1,00,000.
- Categories: Open to all genders and
to General, SC/ST, OBC, and Minority categories
- Courses Covered: SSLC, PUC,
Engineering, Graduation, Post Graduation, and other fields
APPLICATION PROCESS AND DOCUMENTS
Applicants need to submit:
- ID Proof
- Income Certificate
- Ration/Family Card
- All Educational Certificates
Selection is based on a
comprehensive assessment of merit, financial need, and the applicant’s
educational background. Additional factors like the ability to pay fees,
siblings’ profiles, and details of the applicant’s institution are also
considered

IMPACT AND LEGACY
Since its inception, NSMP
has supported over 380 students with scholarships worth more than ₹10
lakhs, enabling many to overcome financial hurdles and excel in their chosen
fields
