Launched in 2024, the Bharti
Airtel Scholarship Program, an ambitious initiative of the Bharti Airtel
Foundation, aims to support talented students from diverse socio-economic
backgrounds, particularly girl students, in realizing their dreams of becoming
future technology leaders. This merit-cum-means-based scholarship is designed
to benefit students pursuing undergraduate and five-year integrated engineering
courses at India’s top 50 engineering institutes as ranked by the National
Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024.
The program is fully funded, offering holistic financial support that includes 100% coverage of tuition fees, hostel and mess charges, and provision of a laptop in the first year. By addressing financial barriers, the scholarship enables students to access quality education without the burden of economic constraints. Selected students are recognized as Bharti Scholars, symbolizing academic excellence and a commitment to innovation and leadership.
In the academic year 2024–25,
the program witnessed an enthusiastic response. Although it initially planned
to support 250 students, it ultimately awarded scholarships to 276 deserving
candidates, including 62 girls, making up 22% of the cohort. The initiative's
strong focus on gender inclusion and diversity is evident through its special
preference for girls, transgender students, persons with disabilities, and
those with single or no parents.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply, candidates must:
- Be Indian citizens and residents.
- Have secured confirmed admission in the
first year (2025–26) of an eligible engineering course, including fields
like Electronics & Communication, Telecom, IT, Computer Science, Data
Science, Aerospace, and emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, AR/VR,
Robotics, and Machine Learning.
- Be enrolled in one of the top 50
NIRF-ranked engineering institutions (as per 2024 rankings).
- Have a family income not exceeding INR
8.5 lakhs per annum.
- Not be recipients of any other similar
scholarships.

The Bharti Airtel
Scholarship ensures:
- Full tuition fee coverage for the
duration of the course, up to five years for integrated programs.
- Hostel and mess fees are covered or
reimbursed as per university norms.
- Laptop distribution in the first year to
assist academic learning.
- Students living in PG/rented
accommodations receive financial support aligned with institute charges.
- A voluntary commitment by graduates to
support another student after gaining employment, fostering a cycle of
empowerment and social responsibility.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants need to submit:
- Proof of identity (Aadhaar)
- Admission confirmation and fee details
- Class 12 marksheet and entrance exam
scorecard (JEE/university-specific)
- Income documents (ITR, income
certificate, and bank statements)
- Photographs, SOP, account details, and
supporting documents on achievements or accommodations
