The SBI Platinum Jubilee
Asha Scholarship 2025-26 is a flagship initiative by the SBI Foundation, aimed
at providing financial assistance to meritorious students from economically
weaker sections across India. Recognized as one of the largest scholarship
programs in the country, it plays a crucial role in supporting students from
Classes 9 to 12, as well as those pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, and
medical courses at premier institutions. Additionally, students aspiring to
study abroad are also eligible, making this program highly inclusive and
far-reaching. Selected scholars can receive financial aid of up to INR 20 lakh
to support their educational journey, ensuring that financial limitations do
not hinder academic aspirations.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to
students from all over India. For the medical category, applicants must be
pursuing medical degrees at premier universities or colleges listed in the
latest NIRF Top 300 rankings. All applicants must have scored a minimum of 7 CGPA
or 75% marks in the previous academic year. Students belonging to the SC/ST
category are entitled to a relaxation of 10%, meaning they need to have secured
at least 6.3 CGPA or 67.5% marks. The yearly gross family income should not
exceed INR 6,00,000 to qualify for the scholarship.
The SBI Foundation
prioritizes social inclusivity by reserving 50% of the scholarship slots for
female students and another 50% for SC/ST students—divided equally as 25% SC
and 25% ST. In cases where reserved seats remain unfilled, those designated for
females will be allocated to male candidates. Similarly, unfilled SC quotas
will be diverted to ST students, and vice versa. Remaining vacant SC/ST
reservations will be offered first to OBC students and then to general category
applicants.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides
financial aid of up to INR 4,50,000 per student, subject to terms and
conditions. The funds are intended to cover tuition fees and other academic
expenses. The SBI Foundation strives to support students throughout their
course duration, with scholarship renewal contingent on meeting minimum
academic and eligibility requirements each year. This continuous support plays
a vital part in reducing dropout rates and motivating students to maintain
consistent academic performance.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit
various documents when applying for the scholarship. These include the mark
sheet from the previous academic year, government-issued identification such as
an Aadhaar card, current year fee receipt, and proof of admission such as an
admission letter or bonafide certificate. Additionally, bank account details of
the applicant or parent, family income proof (such as Form 16A, income
certificate issued by a government authority, salary slips, etc.), a recent
passport-sized photograph, and caste certificates (if applicable) are
mandatory. Ensuring these documents are accurate and complete will help prevent
delays or disqualification during the application process.
The SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025-26 stands as a beacon of hope for thousands of meritorious students across India, providing them with the financial backing to continue and complete their studies at top institutions.
