The Muskaan Scholarship
Program 2.0 (2025-26) is an impactful educational initiative by Valvoline
Cummins Private Ltd. (VCPL) designed to provide financial and mentorship
support to deserving students from vulnerable and economically weaker sections.
This program specifically targets children of commercial drivers (LMV/HMV),
mechanics, and students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) across the
southern, eastern, and northeastern states of India. By helping students
continue their education without financial stress, the scholarship aims to
create a positive ripple effect in these communities.
Purpose and Scope
The Muskaan Scholarship
Program 2.0 focuses on students studying in Classes 9 to 12, offering them a
grant of up to INR 12,000 to cover essential academic expenses such as tuition
fees, books, uniforms, and stationery. Beyond financial aid, the program incorporates
a mentorship framework that empowers selected students by instilling
confidence, helping them overcome challenges, and setting achievable academic
and personal goals. One notable aspect of the mentorship is sessions on road
safety, reinforcing practical life skills alongside academics.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to
students who meet the following conditions:
- Enrolled in Classes 9 to 12 for the
academic session 2025-26.
- Reside in and study in southern,
eastern, or northeastern Indian states such as Assam, Manipur, Nagaland,
Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Puducherry,
Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka,
Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
- Belong to one of the following
backgrounds: children of commercial drivers (LMV/HMV), children of
mechanics, or Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
- Must have secured more than 60% marks in
the previous class exam.
- For EWS category students, the family’s
total annual income should not exceed INR 8 lakh.
- Children of employees of Valvoline
Cummins Private Ltd. and their implementation partners are not eligible.
Scholarship Benefits
- Financial support of up to INR 12,000
annually, adjusted according to the actual academic expenses submitted by
the student.
- Coverage includes tuition fees, school
books, uniforms, and stationery — critical components for uninterrupted
education.
- Mentorship support to guide students,
enhance self-belief, and provide life skills, including specific sessions
on road safety.
- Annual scholarship disbursement with
renewal possible based on performance and fund availability by VCPL.
Required Documentation
Applicants need to provide
the following to complete their applications:
- Aadhaar card or other proof of identity.
- Admission proof for the current academic
year (fee receipt, admission letter, or bonafide certificate).
- Signed and stamped marksheet of the
previous class.
- Documents proving parent’s profession
such as a Commercial Driving License (for drivers), a Shramik Card,
employer confirmation, or a self-declaration letter attested by an
authority.
- Family income proof via income
certificate from government authorities (Gram Panchayat, SDM, DM,
Tehsildar), salary slips, or Income Tax Returns (ITR).
- Bank account details of the applicant.
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
Application and Selection Process
The application is submitted
online through the official Valvoline Cummins and Buddy4Study platform. The
selection involves a thorough review process including verification of
submitted documents, telephonic interactions, and panel interviews conducted online
or in camps. The final scholarship distribution is based on eligibility,
socio-economic need, and academic merit.
