The Sony Music Group
Global Scholars Program 2025–26 is a prestigious international scholarship
initiative committed to advancing diversity and accessibility in music
education. The program is tailored for talented and financially disadvantaged
students worldwide, enabling them to pursue undergraduate degrees in music or
music business fields at accredited institutions and ultimately fostering a
more inclusive music industry.

The scholarship reflects
Sony Music Group’s dedication to empowering the next generation of music
leaders, creators, and innovators. By financially supporting promising students
from underrepresented backgrounds, the program aims to reduce barriers to top-tier
education and cultivate new voices in the global music ecosystem.
Key Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants
must:
- Plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate
program in music or music business-related fields during the 2025–26
academic year.
- Demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0 on
a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Clearly showcase financial need.
- Submit a completed application in
English by Friday, August 8, 2025.
- Note: This program covers undergraduate
study only; applicants do not need proof of acceptance at the time of
applying but must provide enrollment confirmation if selected.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected Sony Music Group
Global Scholars will receive:
- Awards ranging from USD 3,000 – 20,000
per academic year to cover tuition and mandatory academic fees,
determined by need, institution, and region.
- The opportunity to attend a Global
Scholars Conference at Sony Music headquarters for professional
development and industry exposure.
- Access to mentoring, networking, and
curated development experiences with Sony Music professionals,
supplementing classroom learning with real-world insights.
- The scholarship is renewable for up
to three additional years (total four years or until degree
completion), contingent on maintaining eligibility.
Required Application Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Online application form
- Personal statement (up to 3,500
characters)
- Estimates of tuition and mandatory fees
for 2025–26
- Two reference letters from
non-family members (such as instructors or employers)
- Copy of high school transcript/grade
report (A-level, O-level, GCSE, or BTEC accepted for certain regions)
- Proof of acceptance or enrollment (required
before award disbursement).
Selection and Support
Scholars are chosen through
a competitive process evaluating academic merit, leadership, commitment to
music, personal character, and demonstrated need. Notifications will be sent
by end of October 2025, and funds are paid directly to educational
institutions. Awardees also join a global network of music professionals,
benefiting from mentorship, industry insights, and long-term career support.
