Cricket Scholarship 2025–26 is a flagship initiative dedicated to discovering
and nurturing the budding cricket talent of India. Aimed at children aged 5 to
14 years, it provides financial aid, professional training, and cricketing
resources to help young players pursue their passion for the sport. This
scholarship ensures inclusivity by supporting children from families with
limited financial means, promoting fair competition through a video-based
selection process evaluated by retired professional Indian cricketers.
Purpose and Eligibility
The scholarship program
embodies Asian Paints’ commitment to empowering young athletes and promoting
grassroots cricket talent across India. Indian children between the ages of 5
and 14 with a valid Aadhaar card or Indian Passport are eligible to apply. The
scholarship targets students from families with an annual income below ₹20
lakh, verified through IT return documents for the fiscal year 2024–25.
Applicants must not be recipients of any other cricketing scholarship or
stipend during this period. A parent or legal guardian’s written consent is
mandatory, and the scholarship is not available to directors, employees, or
immediate family members of Asian Paints or its group companies.
Additionally, the program
requires applicants to be consumers who have purchased NeoBharat products to
ensure community engagement.
Selection Process
The selection process is
rigorous and transparent, relying on video submissions where applicants
showcase their cricketing skills—batting, bowling, or fielding—in formal
settings such as school or club matches, tournaments, or leagues. These videos,
lasting between one and three minutes, are evaluated by a panel of retired
professional Indian cricketers who judge the talent, technique, and potential
of each participant.
Scholarship Benefits
Up to 100 young cricketers
demonstrating exceptional skills are awarded scholarships of up to ₹1,00,000
each. The scholarship amount is disbursed in two installments:
- An initial ₹50,000
upon selection, which can be used for cricket academy enrollment, purchase
of cricket kits, gear, or other related expenses.
- Up to ₹50,000
during the year 2025 against valid receipts for cricket academy fees.
Beyond financial support,
selected students gain access to professional training and coaching through
leading cricket academies. The program also provides sports kit and gear
assistance, enhances practical training, and fosters competitive exposure by facilitating
participation in higher-level tournaments and leagues. This holistic approach
ensures that talented young players receive the required resources and
mentorship to advance their cricketing careers.
Application Requirements
Applicants need to submit
several critical documents:
- Valid identity proof such as Aadhaar
card or passport.
- Birth certificate as proof of age.
- Parents’ or guardians’ PAN card and IT
returns for FY 2023-24 for income verification.
- Undertaking confirming that the
applicant is not availing any other cricket scholarship during the same
period.
- Completed registration form including
dealer details for NeoBharat product purchase verification.
- A short video submission (1-3 minutes)
demonstrating cricket skills.
