Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 Applications Open

 

The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme (CTSSS) 2025-26 is a flagship initiative by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous organization functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This program aims to nurture and support young, talented children between the ages of 10 and 14 years by providing them with specialised training in various cultural and artistic disciplines.

The scheme places a strong emphasis on safeguarding rare and traditional art forms that are at risk of fading away. Through this initiative, the government seeks to not only encourage budding artists but also ensure the continuation of India’s rich and diverse cultural legacy.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

To apply for the scholarship, candidates must:

• Be aged between 10 and 14 years, born between 1st August 2011 and 30th June 2015.
• Be currently studying in a recognized school or belong to a family practising traditional performing arts.
• Have a monthly family income below ₹8,000.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:

Students selected for the CTSSS will receive:

• A stipend of ₹3,600 per year.
• Reimbursement of actual tuition fees up to ₹9,000 per year for specialized training from a qualified institution, guru, or teacher.

This financial assistance is designed to ease the burden on underprivileged families while enabling their children to pursue excellence in the field of arts, including music, dance, drama, painting, sculpture, crafts, and literary arts.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

Applicants must provide:

• A recommendation from the school or institution where they are currently enrolled.
• A recommendation from the guru or teacher providing them with specialized cultural training.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process involves a test or interview, after which shortlisted candidates are evaluated by a panel of experts. Assessments are done on a 1-to-10-point scale, and the final decision lies with the Central Selection Committee constituted by CCRT.

The last date to apply for the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 is 30th June 2025.
